Mesaieed (Umm Said) is Qatar’s southern heavy-industry city, on the coast around 40 km south of Doha. Mesaieed Industrial City is the base for the country’s gas processing, refining, petrochemical and metals industries — steel, aluminium, fertiliser and chemicals — served by Mesaieed Port, Qatar’s first deep-water port, with its container terminal and export berths.
That heavy industry runs on high-value, hard-to-track assets at enormous scale: plant, valves, instruments and spares across the plants, coil, billet and work in progress across the steel and metals operations, bagged and bulk product across fertiliser and chemicals, and containers and cargo across the port.
